Father’s Day 2022

We spent the weekend getting together all of us. I miss having all the family together, so it was nice to get together. Friday night, we had great plans to go to dinner together, but Jake only had an hour of time before he had to leave so we ended up at the Orem Mall food court. Nichole thought the dinner was a bust, but I thought it was great. I knew Eli would share a breadstick with me since he’s all about eating carbs. He and I got Sbarros. Ethan and Chani got a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. We all enjoyed a drink from Orange Julius. Brad and Ava both got Chick-Fil-A while Mom and Jake got a couple burritos from the Mexican place. It was a hodgepodge for a meal, but it worked out great cuz everyone was able to get what they wanted

Saturday morning, Nichole let me do my triathlon stuff. With the time I had, I was able to get a 10-mile run, 1.2 mile swim and a 30-mile bike ride in. I’ve been having a lot of insomnia lately or just not sleeping well. I woke up at 3:30 and realized I was gonna be up and not be able to go back to sleep. So, I did the run first before the pool opened up for the swim. It worked out perfectly. Later in the afternoon, we were able to go to Nichole’s mom’s house to celebrate Papa Merrill. It was good to watch the video of him that Nichole made 16 years ago of him.

Sunday, Nichole made me breakfast in bed before we headed out for a bike ride together.  She made me 2 pancakes, 4 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs and some Tampico orange juice.  I think she’s trying to fatten me up. We had a great dinner in the evening at mom and dad Ralph’s house to celebrate my dad.  It was nice. Many of us said some comments or memories about dad
