Tuesday, Christmas Eve. Went on a run with Don. We’re training to do a marathon together in about a month from now. I’ve gotta get my speed, endurance and distance back up. I’ve gotten 40 miles in this week. I met some of Melissa’s family. I went to Leah (Melissa’s youngest sister and with whom she lives) and Cade’s house for dinner. There, I met Asher and Tatiana, parents Lynn and Rachel, sister Emily, sister Leah with their kids Audrey, Eleanor (Ellie), Anderson (Andy) and Jackson. Asher and Tats came together over to Leah’s.
Christmas Day. It was a weird sensation to wake up all on my own on this holiday. But, I got up and went for a short 5k run and then went to my mom and dad’s to spend a few hours with them. Jake was with Seth’s family, Brad with Calvin’s, Ethan and Chani had their family time and Ava and Eli are with Nichole this year as per the divorce decree. I made French toast, ham steak, bacon, scrambled eggs and grape juice. Dad preferred the French toast in lieu of the traditional. About 2:00 I started to head back over to Melissa’s place. We opened up our gifts for each other. We were the only ones in the house cuz the rest of her family had gone up to her parent’s house for dinner. Melissa got me a gray beanie, a charcoal long sleeve shirt, a flannel shirt, a $100 Scheels gift card, a puzzle and some Lubriderm lotion. A few weeks ago when I arrived at her house, I asked for some lotion cuz I had forgotten mine. She was cute and got me some more. She got me clothes cuz I had told her before I needed to update my stuff. She is so thoughtful and cute. We went up to her parent’s house for dinner and to see the lights at Temple Square together. The lights were pretty minimal due to the construction upgrades. Still pretty though and fun to walk around and get to visit her family. Tatiana and Asher both came. I was actually able to sit with the two of them for a minute and get to talk with them.
Thursday, the day after Christmas, I went to work. I was able to meet up at lunchtime with Ethan and Chani and Mercedes, bales and Calvin, Jake and Seth at R&R BBQ. We went to dinner again with Melissa’s siblings and family to celebrate her dad’s birthday at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square. This time she had nieces and nephews there. Tatiana came but Asher had to work and was unable to come. I really feel welcome with Melissa’s family. I hope to be a part of Melissa’s family some day. She makes me so happy
Friday, Melissa and I had date night and we went to La Jolla Gardens in Provo. The more she opens up to me the more I am attracted to all of who she is. She’s had some trashy guys who appeared to be good ones up front. Porn addictions, narcissism. She was married to 2 LDS guys who up front seemed great. But, she tells me she had doubts right up front with both of them. With Roman, he was good to her in public but not so much in private and had porn addictions. He cheated on Melissa with her best friend and visiting teacher Melinda with whom he was kissing in front of Asher and Tatiana within weeks of separating. The next guy, Trent, she dated for 1.5 years and she thought they were gonna get married. He was also addicted to porn and soon after breaking up he was dating another girl to whom he married. She then dated Dan who was the owner of TriUtah. But, he was not in shape. So, Dan just “kind of grew on her” although not really attracted to him. Kurt was an athlete but gave up on himself and got out of shape. It was hard for Melissa cuz Kurt didn’t see any value of taking care of himself and gained a lot of weight and told her to accept him for who he was. But he wanted to out on a show that all was good from the outside perspective at the same time not treating her well. They dated for 3.5 years before getting married and only were married for not even a full year. Kurt wanted Melissa to take care of his children and a narcissist. Then, when she had her mental break, he didn’t support her. I hope Melissa will be able to open up herself fully and unconditionally with me. I hope I can feel that I’m much better then those trashy men. The other day when we were at La Jolla, I told her she was a “good catch”. She responded by saying with a grin and smile that “she caught me first. I liked you first on Hinge”.
Saturday, Melissa and I got together with Ava and Cassie, Brad and Calvin and Eli to go see Nosferatu. That was a dark movie. Eli had to sit out for a little bit so I went to go sit with him out in the hall. Melissa had gotten up late in the movie for a bathroom break and when she returned she informed me Eli was out in the hall. I hadn’t realized he was outside. Probably not the best choice for a “family” show
