4th of July

Nichole let me go on a bike ride.  I left at 6 am to go around Utah Lake.  I think it was just a little shy of 100 miles.  I changed the battery in my computer, but the computer was broken, so I couldn't keep track of distance/pace.  I got home at 12:00, but I took about a 30 minute break at the midway point for some brunch at Subway.  So, about 5.5 hours to do roughly 100 miles.  Man, I can't wait for the day I can buy a new bike

Ethan, Brad and Jake went to Seven Peaks with Aunt Deanna (my sister) and her sons Cody, Zeke and Jason.  It sounded like they had a great time.

We gave Ava the chance to decide where we'd go for lunch because there would only be her, Nichole, Eli and myself.  Of all places, she had her heart set on McDonald's.  Ugh!  It was okay though as she was able to play for a while there.  She kept telling me, "I love you, daddy."  I think she told me that about 20 times.  She's so cute, and I'm going to miss that when she gets older.  So, I'll let her tell me that as much as she wants.  I've noticed the kids respond so nicely to me after I've done something for them.  Like, for example, in this case I fixed her bike

We saw the fireworks over at Thanksgiving Point this year.  We typically go to the temple grounds in Provo and try to see the Stadium of Fire.  But, the last couple years have been kind of lame, so we decided to give Thanksgiving Point a shot.  It was great.  We were there with Dale and Anita and their kids, Deanna and her kids, and our family.  It was fun to just hang out.  We had fireworks in front of us and the Quail Fire of Alpine behind us.  The fireworks were good, but I think the fire was the more intense spectacle.
