Eli and his white car

When I got home from work today, I was welcomed to a nice gesture of gratitude from Eli.  He said, "Dad, thanks for getting me my own car.  I've never had my own car before.  This is awesome."  I just said, "Thanks for saying thanks"😆  Eli got this car for Christmas and was so excited.  This past Sunday, after we got home from work, Jake asked to go to the duck pond. Well, it is one of my New Year's resolutions to make Sunday a little more meaningful.  We, and mainly me, like to come home after church and just relax and not do much other than veg a little in front of the tv.  I'm so busy during the week that Sunday afternoons seems like my one time during the week to just unwind.  But, I need to change and mend my ways.  God has a better plan for me.  So, hey, why not go riding, right?  Wouldn't you know it, just a few minutes after getting to the duck pond, Jake starts to see if he can walk on the frozen ice.  Eli thought that was a pretty good idea.  Well, I think we know what soon followed adtwr Jake's brilliant idea.  Yep, he fell right in and got his feet all wet.  Our expedition down to the pond ended up being a very short excursion with cries of frostbite.
