Eli played soccer this early spring. His team name was the Ninja Dragons...so I think I am recalling that correctly. I know it was the Dragons, but we tried to remember the exact name, and that's what we thought it was. Eli scored a goal this year...and helped score another goal for the opposing team once. So, his scoring prowess kinda evened out. He was always aggressive especially on defense. He would love to stay back and protect the net since there was no goalie. It was as if he felt that he was the protector of the net. When his team had the ball on offense, he would hussle to help his team move the ball up to the opposing goal. He almost scored a few other times, but he helped assist on a couple other goals for his team. The thing I loved was that he always tried hard and huddled. He would get in there and be aggressive. He got good at throwing the ball in. He got good at goal kicks. One time, he took like 20 steps back to get a fast running start for the goal kick. And then, as he kicks it, the ball went like 5 yards just in front of him. Instead of going after the ball to move it forward, he left the ball and went back to the net to protect it. He was actually a good net defender. The opposing team did not score many goals when he in front of the net.
